The Faculty of Social Sciences offers a postgraduate programme leading to the degree of Master of Social Sciences in the field of Corporate Environmental Governance [MSocSc(CEG)] degree.

This programme equips students with the necessary skills and techniques to deal with the challenges of sustainable development from a business perspective, as well as an appreciation of the wider context of globalisation, social responsibility and trade issues. It provides a series of courses that address contemporary theories and practices concerning the integration of environmental, governance and social issues into business strategy. It is aimed at students who want to work in the field of environmental management and policy, and corporate social responsibility and reporting. It will be especially relevant for students looking for a career in environmental management or consultancy, and for those already in business management who wish to learn more about material issues affecting business decision-making.

Mode of Attendance

Full Time (one year, including classes on evenings and weekends)

Part Time (normally two years, up to a maximum of three years, including classes on evenings and weekends)

Programme Entrance Requirements

A Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution with some relevant work experience, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements may in exceptional circumstances be permitted to register if they demonstrate preparation for studies at this level and satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination.
