The Master of Science in Electronic Commerce and Internet Computing [MSc(ECom&IComp)] curriculum is the first in Hong Kong to bridge business and technology. It is designed for business executives, policy and decision makers, managers, and information-technology professionals to equip themselves with the latest knowledge and skills about technological developments and business opportunities in e-commerce. Students are required to successfully complete 72 credits to graduate. The mode of study may comprise 48 credits of courses plus a dissertation (equivalent to 24 credits) or 60 credits of courses plus a case study project (equivalent to 12 credits).
The curriculum tries to provide an integration of technology with businesses, and includes courses in two major and related areas: electronic commerce (ECOM) and internet computing (ICOM). Students are encouraged to take courses in both areas, provided they have the necessary pre-requisite knowledge for the particular course. Extensive counselling will be provided to assist students in choosing courses.
Mode of Attendance
Full Time (minimum one year, maximum two years, with classes on weekday evenings and Saturdays)
Part Time (minimum two years, maximum three years, with classes on weekday evenings and Saturdays)
There are two semesters and one summer semester in an academic year.
