Programme information of 2017/18 is listed below. (Detailed information for 2018/19 will be updated soon.)
Full-time MBA – London Track, New York Track, Hong Kong/China Track
The full-time HKU Master of Business Administration (MBA) curriculum is designed to provide students with first-class education, real-world experience, a deep understanding of Asia and international business, and sincere appreciation of cultural sensitivities. The intensive 14-month programme structure is unique in offering students the opportunity to study in four of the world's economic powerhouses. All students begin the programme with a China immersion course in Beijing, followed by nine months of study in Hong Kong, during which they take core courses with an Asia focus and electives. In their final four months, depending on the track they have chosen, students complete the programme with elective subjects at London Business School (LBS), Columbia Business School (CBS) or Fudan University, or remain in Hong Kong. Our partnerships with such world-renowned business schools as London Business School and Columbia Business School offer our students unparalleled educational, experiential and networking opportunities. Our partnership with Fudan University in Shanghai nicely complements those opportunities.
In The Economist's latest World MBA Rankings, the programme is yet again ranked first in Asia for the 7th consecutive year, and for 3 years average has achieved No. 28 rank worldwide. Given the relatively short history of the full-time MBA programme at HKU, the Faculty of Business and Economics' achievement of such high regional and world rankings is impressive indeed. In addition to The Economist rankings, the HKU MBA is consistently ranked amongst the top programmes in the world in other scales.
The Programme in the Financial Times ranking, has a 3 years average of No. 34 in the world. We are one of the region's youngest MBA programmes, but have managed to grow and build one of its most dynamic in a very short period of time.
In the 2017 Financial Times ranking of 'Top MBAs for Finance', HKU MBA is ranked No. 12 in the world and is the No. 1 Asian school.
Part-time MBA – Weekday and Weekend Modes
The part-time MBA is offered both in weekday and weekend mode; students can choose the mode that best suits their work commitments. Weekday or weekend mode applies to core courses only, while electives are offered from a common pool which consists of weekday- and weekend-mode courses.
The degree can be completed in a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years. Its modular structure allows students to concentrate on one course at a time. Each module lasts about five weeks. Students also have the chance to spend a semester at the London Business School or Columbia Business School.
