To be eligible for admission under the Direct Admissions Scheme to Senior Year Places (DAS), candidates should be a graduate of a recognised full-time Associate Degree (AD) or Higher Diploma (HD) programme of at least two years in duration from a community college in Hong Kong. Final-year students on such programmes can also apply and admission, if applicable, will be subject to the completion of the AD or HD programme by August 2017. Please note, however, that satisfying the basic university entrance requirements does not guarantee admission, as admission is on a competitive basis.
Sub-degree graduates from all disciplines are eligible to apply for the BA and the BSC(IM) programmes. Candidates seeking admission to the majors of "English Studies" or "Language and Communication" under the BA programme are required to have achieved a minimum of Level 5 in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination; or an equivalent standard in another recognised English proficiency test.
For the BSC(ACD) programme, sub-degree graduates holding a recognised AD or HD in the field of Early Childhood Education are eligible to apply.
As for the other programmes (i.e. BSC, BSS, BENG, BNURS, BBA/BBA(Acc&Fin) and BEcon/BEcon&Fin), sub-degree graduates should be from the same or a related discipline. For admission to the BBA/BBA(Acc&Fin) or BEcon/BEcon&Fin programmes, applicants are strongly recommended to take either the IELTS or the TOEFL and good performance in one of the tests would be a great advantage.
In consideration of applications for admission to senior year places, sub-degree graduates / final year students will be assessed according to their qualifications and achievements, irrespective of which community college they are from.
Applicants interested in admission as a first-year student can include first-year programmes among their programme choices in the DAS application. For first-year programmes, applications will be considered together with other applicants under the Non-JUPAS Admissions Scheme and applicants are expected to fulfil the same requirements applicable to Non-JUPAS applicants.
