2016 Admissions Scores of HKDSE Applicants

The Table below shows the upper quartile, median, lower quartile, and lowest scores of HKDSE applicants admitted to each programme in 2016 based on the calculation of (i) best 5 HKDSE subjects in Category A or Category C, and (ii) 4 core subjects and best 2 elective subjects in Category A or Category C of HKDSE respectively.

The main selection principles adopted by each programme is stated in the following table.

1. Some programmes has changed their selection principles for 2017 admissions. 

2. Some programmes may have additional requirements (e.g. specific subject requirements, subject weightings, etc.) in the selection process which are not reflected here.

2017 Selection Principles

After having fulfilled the University Entrance Requirements and Programme Entrance Requirements, our undergraduate programmes will adopt the following principles to consider your admission to HKU. For 'Best 5 subjects' principle being adopted, the combination of your best 5 subjects does NOT mean '4C + 1X'; instead, it can be '3C + 2X' or even '2C + 3X' (if you have taken more than 2 electives). Similar arrangement applies to 'Best 6 subjects'. 

This arrangement will certainly give you flexibility in making the best combination of scores out of your HKDSE results. The subjects below refer to Category A subjects and M1/M2 are excluded, unless otherwise specified.
