HeForShe IMPACT Champion Scholarships

The HeForShe IMPACT Champion Scholarships, as one of the HKU's gender equity measures, will enable students from economically deprived backgrounds to receive quality education at HKU, in the hope of reducing barriers against social mobility and to promote gender equity for access to higher education in less developed countries.

The HeForShe movement is an UN initiative to promote gender equality. HKU is the first university in the world to launch the UN Women's HeForShe Initiative on campus. The UN HeForShe 10x10x10 Impact Group for this movement comprises 10 Heads of State, 10 CEOs of global corporations and 10 University Presidents. HKU's President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Mathieson, is one of those ten.
